Hooray for Holiday Weekends!

I'll be leaving later today to visit my family in Southern Illinois, for the 4th and my birthday. I'm gonna beg my mom to make me one of these again this year.  Red Velvet cake is my favorite!!

Adoptabulls!

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of volunteering with Midwest Rescue of Illinois.  This dedicated group of people work very hard to find good homes for wonderful pit bulls.

Are you a pit bull skeptic?  Think they are a danger to society?  Well take a look at the pictures below and then read some pit bull facts here.

Leo gets a couple extra photos on the blog, because he is still up for adoption.  Does anyone know a good home for Leo?  He has a smile that lights up a room, and loves to give hugs!

PayTon & Nova already have found great homes, but they come out as good ambassadors.

After the Storm

Chicagoland had a huge storm last night.  When it finally moved on, I went outside with the dog.  I had to run back in for my camera...not only was the sky this crazy shade of yellow, but the air even seemed tinted.
